Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side, part of Hyatt’s “me and all” brand, was our first stop in Berlin. I chose the hotel mainly for the location. It sits in Friedrichshain, about a 10–15 minute walk from the East Side Gallery, with strong public transport connections. The idea was to start somewhere that felt local and easy to move around from.

This review covers our stay at the Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side in Friedrichshain.

Location

The hotel sits just across the river from central Berlin, near rail lines and wide main roads. The immediate surroundings are rail lines, wide roads, and concrete rather than cafés and small streets.

That said, you’re a short walk from the S-Bahn and U-Bahn, and Alexanderplatz is only a few stops away.

You’re not surrounded by landmarks, but transport makes the rest of the city easy to reach.

If you want classic, polished Berlin from the first minute, this isn’t it. If you want strong transport links and a more everyday neighborhood feel, it works well.

Arrival and Public Spaces

From the street, the building looks fairly plain. Inside, it’s warmer and more inviting than you’d expect. Lots of wood, orange seating, open space, and big windows looking back out toward the street.

Reception blends into the main lounge and bar area rather than being a formal desk zone. It feels relaxed. During the day it’s bright and easygoing, with a foosball table tucked into one corner. In the evening, the bar picks up a bit but it never feels like a nightclub. The staff keep restocking small bags of free popcorn throughout the evening.

It’s not a destination bar. But it is a comfortable place to have a drink at the end of the night, and as the evening passed, more and more hotel guests opted to do exactly that.

Rooms at the Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side

Rooms at the Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side are compact. You notice it immediately.

Room layout on entry. Sink partition visible immediately. Compact, efficient footprint.

When you open the door, you can basically see the entire layout at once: bed in the center, sink partition off to one side, storage built into the wall. There isn’t extra space to move furniture around or spread out.

The bed is comfortable. Storage is adequate for a short stay. There’s a small desk that works if you need it. Everything is well designed, just not especially spacious.

For one or two nights, it works well. For a longer stay, you might start wishing for more space or room to unpack properly.

It’s a sleep-and-go room rather than somewhere you’d spend the afternoon.

Bathroom

Modern, clean, and compact. Good lighting. The shower and toilet are separated well enough for the size. Nothing fancy, but nothing frustrating either.

Compact bathroom. Good lighting and efficient separation of shower and WC.

Breakfast

Breakfast was a buffet setup with the usual continental options plus some hot items. The room itself is large and bright, and it handles the morning rush well. It’s not luxury-level, but it’s solid and organized.

Sound and Practicalities

Given the nearby rail lines and main roads, I was slightly concerned about noise. In practice, the soundproofing is good. Once inside the hotel, outside noise wasn’t noticeable.

Getting around the city is easy from here.

When This Hotel Makes Sense

  • Short stays

  • People who prioritize transport access

  • Travelers comfortable with compact rooms

  • Those who want a modern, social lobby without a party scene

It’s less ideal for:

  • Long stays where you want space to spread out

  • Travelers looking for classic Berlin charm right outside the door

  • Anyone expecting luxury touches

Positioning in a Berlin Sequence

On its own, Me and All is a straightforward city hotel: clean, efficient, and well located for transport.

As a starting point for Berlin, it works well. You’re connected to the rest of the city and out exploring quickly.
